For gamma calibration we suggest to look at the information on this

How good does the Quick-Fix compare to auto-contrast
(auto-levels)
The Quick-Fix correction can be useful when we want to get rid of
exposure problems very quickly yet in a balanced and efficient way.
Sometimes the Automatic Quick Fix does a good job, in other cases
you will need to use the manual Quick Fix wizard.
Now you may be wondering what is the difference between
Quick-Fix and the Auto-contrast also known as auto-levels. While
Quick-fix is a complex algorithm that analyzes the photos and tries
to find the best parameters for 9 kinds of color and exposure
corrections, the auto-contrast applies a single correction that is
automatically stretching the channels of the histogram.
A histogram stretch increases the contrast of the picture because it
expands the entire histogram range.
Quick-Fix also applies auto-contrast correction among the others.
To compare the difference of results you may get applying quick-fix
or auto-contrast please consider the following example:

Quick-Fixed
As you can see the quick-fixed picture not only is better
contrasted, but has also a better color, saturation and exhibits
more details in the shadows and high-lights.
