Focus Photoeditor version: 6.3.9
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars - "We recommend Focus Photoeditor"
Reviewed by Elena Opris on January 9th, 2012

Focus Photoeditor is a tool you can use to edit your image files in a professional manner.
The interface of the program is clean and simple. You can insert an image by either using the file browser or the "drag and drop" method.
So, you can use some simple tools like crop, move layer, move selection, magic wand, geometric selection, pick color, text, pencil, line and arrow. You can adjust an image when it comes to colors, texture, objects and effects (e.g. red eye reduction, brightness, saturation, contrast, HUE, sharpen, blur, emboss, gradient).
Furthermore, you can convert gamma, apply a grayscale, negative or equalizer, add a watermark, load scripts or enable automatic tools (e.g. fix wizard, contrast, stretch, decontrast, white balance, dynamic range, smooth skin). But you can also remove noise (luminance, chroma, RGB, pixel), apply filters (e.g. glass, ripple, oil paint, sepia, twisting, bumping, frame 3D, mirror) and transform the image (e.g. rotate, perspective, skew, add borders, whirpool, flip, seamless).
In addition, you can create new blank layers, merge layers, import selections from files, as well as select threshold, range, adaptive contrast, shadows, and others. The program has many functions you can explore, uses a moderate amount of system resources and contains a comprehensive help file.
We haven't come across any problems during our tests. Although there is the possibility of configuring advanced image editing settings, even first-time users can learn how to manage this program. We recommend Focus Photoeditor.

CNET

Focus Photoeditor version: 6.1.9
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars - "highly capable and intuitive photo editor"
Reviewed by: CNET staff on April 07, 2010
Focus Photoeditor emphasizes digital photography but does just about everything other graphics packages can do, with a few twists of its own.
It has automatic features for quick photo fixes, but it's also easy to use it to draw, paint, and create custom graphics. It includes an advanced image browser and a Web album wizard, too.
Focus Photoeditor's menu bar features clearly labeled functions that are logically and intuitively grouped, which makes them easy to find and understand. There's the usual File, Edit, and Help menus, but most controls are labeled descriptively, such as Color, Noise/Sharpness, Exposure, and Tasks.
The layout is typical of full-featured photo editors, with tabs, layers, icon-based toolbars, and sliders. The similarity is more than skin deep, since Photoeditor is compatible with many Adobe Photoshop features, including its Filters Host Application.
One of Photoeditor's differences we like is the Layers function's separate tabs for image and text layers. We tried the selection, color, and drawing tools with both a mouse and a Wacom pen, both of which gave excellent control.
Focus Photoeditor is shareware that is free to try for 30 days, though the trial version puts a watermark on images. It's listed as working in Windows versions 95 to Vista, but we tested it in Windows 7 and it worked fine.
It's a highly capable and intuitive photo editor, and we recommend it.

FindMySoft

Focus Photoeditor version: 6.3.9
Rating: 5 Stars Essential - "supports a large number of image formats, for importing and also for saving them"
Focus Photoeditor has been reviewed by Jerome Johnston for FindMySoft on 05 Mar 2012.
Image editing is becoming more and more popular. Maybe it's because a photo that was taken with a low performance digital camera isn't good enough or just because one wishes to add a personal touch to a photograph, making it stand up above the crowd. Either way, you need an image editing software.
You could use Paint, the software included in Windows but you will soon realize that it lacks a lot of options and that it has very limited image possibilities. Alternatively, you could use Adobe Photoshop, the well known advanced photo editor but this is not for beginners due to the complexity of its functions. It also costs a lot of money and it requires powerful computers.
A better solution is Focus Photoeditor. The software includes most of the features of other similar programs but comes in a much lighter package, taking up less hard disk space and requiring lower system resources.
The installation process of Focus Photoeditor is not difficult to complete, not even for beginners. The program supports almost any version of the Windows operating system, including XP and Windows 7. The interface of Focus Photoeditor resembles the one of other image editing tools, but has much more features.
At first, the program will try to look for Photoshop plugins into the system but this option can be cancelled in case one doesn't have Photoshop installed. The user can create a new image from scratch, using various drawing tools or he can open an existing image or a group of images.
The number of graphical formats supported by the software is quite large and exceeds the ones supported by other image editing tools. After having imported images into Focus Photoeditor, they can be automatically adjusted. Thus, their brightness, contrast and saturation can be automatically optimized.
Focus Photoeditor includes numerous effects and filters that can make an image unique. Furthermore, text watermarks can be added to the images, for personalizing them even more. After the images have been edited, they can be saved in one of the many graphical formats supported, they can be printed or sent directly through email. A feature that other image tools don't have is the possibility to create web albums. The files generated using this process just need to be uploaded on a website.
Pros: It features a lot of filters and effects that allow improving an image and making it unique. Besides that, it supports a large number of image formats, for importing and also for saving them. Furthermore, it includes numerous drawing tools.
Cons: The software's menu system seems a bit complicated at first, due to the large number of options.
Focus Photoeditor is a fantastic image editor that has all the options a user might need to create astonishing images.

Getting pictures from a digital camera to a PC should be a snap, but too often it isn't.
Smart Photo Import is an easy-to-use tool that greatly simplifies the process of importing and sorting digital images from a camera or other device to a computer.
It automatically organizes image files into folders for easy archiving, neatly avoiding one of the biggest problems with digital photography: immense catch-all folders packed with thousands of images, and usually all jumbled up, too.
This neat little tool has a Windows-style installer and opens with a clean, basic interface that resembles a bare-bones media player. There are File, Edit, and Help menus; navigation boxes; a slider to control thumbnail size; some sorting and display options; and Import, Preview, and Options buttons, the latter giving access to the program's configurations.
There's a handy space to enter photo subjects for easy sorting, an interesting feature that we especially like. Smart Photo Importer couldn't be easier to use: browse to the source folder, select a destination folder, and click Import.
The imported images start appearing immediately in the main display. A click rotates the image either way or calls up a dialog with detailed image information.
Smart Photo Import's is free to try for 60 days and works in Windows versions 95 to XP, though we tested it in Vista and Windows 7, and it performed well in both. It's a handy tool that can help you bring order to your digital photo chaos.
